Let it Snow

It's beginning to look a little like Christmas. Lots of snow on the mountains, some on the streets, and a few National Lampoon's-esque houses beginning to spring up about the place.

Wanderings

Seasonal decorations are quite enjoyable in the context of their particular time of the year. It always makes me a little sad to see the pumpkins linger on after October 31st. They just wither and turn brown in the November rain. I was rather pleased to see this "Jacko" lantern though. Quite an artistic homage to the king of the Thriller, and also an amusing play on words.. I am unsure what I think of pumpkins guzzling beer though..

Snow is starting to fall on the mountains... won't be long til I try to once again become a boarder of the snow kind. Hopefully I'll stay up for longer than 5 seconds this time.

A Dog and a Cat

Bringing it full circle

So all full of aspirations and great intentions I started this blog almost 12 months ago... I'm amazed I actually persevered with it as long as I did. But inevitably it reached the point where there was a sound of dread in my daily "I have to do my blog" exclamation. I was losing steam.. big time. But after a bit of a hiatus I think I may actually care again.. well at least enough to do somewhat regular posts to finish out the year.

I still can't quite believe it's November already.

I'm not sure why I took this.. I think there was a skunk but I didn't want to use the flash in case he sprayed me.. I wasn't in the mood for a bath of ketchup.

I have eaten too much.. I feel ill. Note to self: Learn to control yourself at the Indian all-you-can-eat. 

I have been living at the current abode for almost 2 years, and I only just saw this stencil yesterday on our rooftop deck.. we live in a one bedroom apartment - not a sprawling country retreat.. I no longer pride myself on my observance.

Asian Boy Hair

The boys put a lot lot lot of time and effort into their locks over here. This boy sat in front of me on the bus... The front was even more bouffant and spectacular.. but I was trying to be aloof.

His style reminded me of this ad I came across a long time ago.. I think it's the mustardee colour.

So, having been the hostess with the mostess for the past 2 weeks - I have SERIOUSLY neglected my blog addiction to the point where I am almost clean.. This cannot happpen. I am hereby fervently throwing myself back into the arms of the narcotic that is blogging, not to be stirred by anything.. well until I become distracted by something shiny.. or food.

Sometimes I find cool things at the clothes bin, sometimes I find disgusting things, and sometimes I have just been 5 minutes shy of meeting Mr. Bean.. or Penfold from Danger mouse.. this was one of those days..

Spherical Living - The Spheres

This is where we stayed for 2 nights and almost 2 days.. one of the best things I've ever seen/done in my life. It was made an all the more enriching experience by the wonderful couple who build and own these fantastic spheres. The building to the far left is a mushroom which houses a composting toilet. The sphere to the right of that is "Eve", that's where our buddies stayed. The one in the centre is "Eryn".. he was ours.

People are forever creating stupid signs.. this one irked me more than others. I mean, were they trying to be funny/cute/serious/humorous/mean? I wanted to:

a) Steal everything out of the garden AND leave a passive aggressive note,

b) Make a sign saying "I touched your garden" and post it on a neighbour's wall,

c) Make it a post on my blog,

d) All of the above.
